Eitetsu Hayashi was born in Hiroshima in 1952. A member of several taiko groups during his youth, after impressive debuts at Carnegie Hall in 1980 he began a brilliant soloist career that leads him to perform with the Berlin Philharmonic at the Waldbühne in 2000. To celebrate his 25-year career, he created and performed an exceptional concert, exclusively constituted of taiko concertos.

He has been playing with numerous orchestras and musiciens and he is involved in enlarging the artistic power of his instrument. Hayashi is not only a very sought-after musician but also a producer, a composer, a conductor, a teacher and he has recorded many CDs and DVDs.
