Chamber Orchestra of Europe (The Orchestra)

The Orchestra

In 2022, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe—“the finest chamber orchestra in the world” (BBC Two)—began a three-year residence at one of the world’s most exquisite and historical venues: Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria! The esteemed ensemble, founded in 1981 and made up of talented musicians chosen through a rigorous multi-stage selection process, perform at least four concerts each season at the sublime Haydnsaal, available to stream in full on medici.tv.

The walls of this illustrious and acoustically perfect concert hall, named for the composer who spent four decades working under the aegis of the Esterházy family, resound with world-class interpretations of classical masterpieces by some of the most accomplished artists of our day: Robin Ticciati, Julian Rachlin, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Andrew Manze, and Jan Lisiecki in works by Beethoven, Widmann, Berlioz, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Mozart, Weber, Schubert, and—of course—Haydn!
