Welcome to Glyndebourne: a beautiful country manor in the south of England where opera is king. In this place where time stands still, there's nothing better than to sip at champagne and enjoy a picnic at the side of the lake, but don't forget your evening gowns and tuxedos! A bucolic musical gathering point since the festival's founding in 1934!
Don't miss the semi-finals and finals of the first-ever Glyndebourne Opera Cup, a new international opera competition taking place March 22-24, 2018. Created by the prestigious Glyndebourne opera house, the 2018 competition honors Mozart, with each singer performing some of his most famous arias! First prize winners will receive £15,000 and be guaranteed a role within five years at one of the world's top opera houses. In the final round, the 10 finalists will be accompanied by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The competition is hosted by the soprano Danielle de Niese and the comedian Chris Addison.
