The Belgium dancer and choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui presented by the movie director Don Kent.
What do we really know about this 30 year old artist who has triumphed in all the Major modern dance venues in less than a decade? Don Kent and Christian Dumais-Lvowski propose to work from these four places: Belgium, China, Corsica and India. The idea isn't to trail Larbi to four different workshops of choreographic creation, but to visit – or revisit – with him, these places of reflexion, inspiration and transmission of knowledge. Not a visit of the physical places but more importantly the exploration of their inner world as defined by Larbi Cherkaoui himself in his book "Pélerinage sur soi" (Pilgrimage to the self).
As the young artist confesses: "I would like for this film to be a step where I can learn and discover more about myself, my desires and other things yet unknown, so that I'm not only the passive subject of this documentary, but also an actor, even a scientist, researching myself."
