О программе

A diptych on the Capuçon brothers.

Most likely the most famous brothers of the French classical world, they are fascinating in many ways! Geniuses of the bow, Renaud, the violinist and Gautier, the cellist began their career at a very young age.

Gautier, the youngest, started studying cello at the age of 5 and studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMP), following the teachings of Philippe Muller. At age 16, he was awarded second prize of the Chrischurch International cello competition in New-Zealand, the following year, he received the first prize of the Académie Internationale de Musique Maurice-Ravel de Saint-Jean-de-Luz. At the French Victoire de la Musique in 2001, he was nominated "New Talent" and accessed international recognition. He also plays with orchestras, among which Claudio Abbado's Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.

Like his brother Renaud, Gautier Renaud is also very invested as a chamber musician and shares the stage with Martha Argerich, Stephen Kovacevitch, Daniel Barenboïm, Hélène Grimaud... In this second episode, Pierre Dupouey gathers precious memories from the cellist and from his brother. On this occasion, he also filmed performances of works by Johannes Brahms, with pianist Nicholas Angelich.
