Filmmaker Robert Dornheilm’s Karajan, or Beauty As I See It brings together the classical music world’s elite soloists and conductors to reflect about the legendary maestro and his legacy. The documentary film includes interviews in which former musical prodigies (Anne-Sophie Mutter, Evgeny Kissin), legendary voices of the 20th century (René Kollo, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Christa Ludwig) and the great conductors of our time (Seiji Ozawa, Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann) share their personal experiences of the Austrian maestro. Karajan’s daughters Arabel and Isabel shed a more personal light on their father and his career. Extraordinary archival footage and interviews with Karajan himself finish off this thought-provoking documentary portrait!
