О программе

The young Swedish prodigy Daniel Lozakovich and the Israeli conductor Lahav Shani—a protégé of Barenboim and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra's new Music Director—join the Verbier Festival Orchestra for a stellar concert.

The overture from Mozart's unforgettable opera Le Nozze de Figaro marks the beginning of this special musical evening. Then the young violinist Daniel Lozakovich—who, at the age of 16, performs for his third time as soloist at the Verbier Festival—presents Bruch's Violin Concerto in G Minor. The concert comes to end with Schubert's Symphony No. 9, "The Great", a work nicknamed for its impressive length and noble character (it lasts more than an hour with all the repeats!). It was premiered by Mendelssohn in 1839, more than 11 years after the composer's death.
