О программе

Rolando Villazón and Marc Minkowski live on medici.tv from the Verbier Festival!

Revealed in 1999 by Plácido Domingo's Operalia competition, the Mexican tenor Rolando Villazón has quickly become one of the world's most famous lyric singers. His tone and power of voice, his vitality and incredible charisma have made him a highly sought-after artist.

July 2012 has seen the release of Don Giovanni, the first installment of a new Deutsche Grammophon cycle of Mozart's seven main operas in collaboration with Rolando Villazón, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Universal Music Arts & Entertainment, and Rolex; it has also coincided with Villazón's role debut as Ferrando in the buffa masterpiece Così fan tutte at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden: with this recital, the tenor continues to explore the Mozart repertoire, with, for instance, arias from Don Giovanni or Ezio.

A specialist of the 17th and 18th centuries, Marc Minkowski (founder of the Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble and music director of the Sinfonia Varsovia) opens this programme with Kurt Weill's Symphony No. 2 and closes it with Beethoven's Symphony No. 8.
