Kurt Elling Quintet and the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Bielsko-Biała

Kurt Elling and his Quintet, allied with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, invite you for an exceptional evening at the 2018 Lotos Jazz Festival. On the program: energetic reprises of jazz standards as well as original compositions from Elling's The Questions album. A crooner in the American tradition, Elling was chosen by magazines DownBeat and JazzTimes as their best current male singer for three years in a row. This concert, worthy of Sinatra, mixes power and tenderness, as well as nostalgia.

The Questions was written in 2017 in reaction to the American presidential election held the previous year, and blends original songs with reprises such as American Tune, composed by Paul Simon. Dazed by the current events, Elling questions their consequences on the world as well as human nature. From these questions is born a need for action, as well as the recognition of one's inability to change things on their own...
