Sobre el programa...
Alongside saxophonist Chris Potter, whose playing has left an indelible mark on the jazz world for over three decades, bassist Matt Brewer and drummer Kendrick Scott form a formidable trio driven by a remarkable rapport and interactive instinct. Potter has always stood out for the clarity and mastery of his playing, as well as his ability to allow his ideas to unfold over time, between lengthy melodies and charged silences. In concert, the trio's music builds up progressively, carried along by a fully collective spirit.
Considered one of the major figures of his generation, Chris Potter has released over a dozen albums as a bandleader and a hundred or more as a sideman for the likes of Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, John Scofield, and Jim Hall. Noticed as early as age eighteen in 1989 by trumpeter Red Rodney, Potter has flourished in a career marked by constant exploration between acoustically- and electrically-inflected projects, notably with his quartet Underground. In this concert from Jazz Middelheim 2026, Potter, Brewer, and Scott make a tightknit group, perfect for an unceasing and rewarding musical dialogue.
