Daniel Barenboim — Pianista

Sobre el programa...

“Music is not work for him, otherwise he would have stopped long ago,” said the great Anne-Sophie Mutter in a recent New York Times article about legendary pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim. “It’s just his life. He is music. And expressing himself through music is second nature.”

It is all but impossible to imagine how different the landscape of classical music would be in 2022 without the decades-long influence of Barenboim, a child prodigy who grew into an uncommonly thoughtful, gregarious, passionate, and politically invested artist. In addition to his rigorous and riveting pianistic technique that has seen him travel the world as a concert artist in solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire, he has also been one of the world's most respected and beloved conductors for over 50 years, taking up prestigious long-term posts with the Berlin State Opera, La Scala, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestre de Paris—among others—and founding the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, which brings together musicians from Israel, Palestine, and other Middle Eastern countries.

The Buenos Aires-born Barenboim turns 80 in 2022. We are delighted to pay tribute to this one-of-a-kind living legend with a brand-new 80-minute compilation made specially by medici.tv, featuring clips from dozens of concerts and documentaries filmed over the last six decades!
