Sobre el programa...
Piano sensation Yunchan Lim continues to bring his unique and already world-famous approach to a delightfully eclectic selection of repertoire favorites, compiling sonatas by Schubert and Scriabin in this electrifying solo recital at the 2026 Verbier Festival! The young virtuoso begins with Schubert's "Gasteiner" Sonata, one of the composer's most inventive and — especially in the extraordinary second movement Con moto — heart-rendingly lyrical creations. Lim continues with a trifecta of profoundly poetic sonatas by the enigmatic Scriabin, starting with No. 2 in G-sharp minor, a dual-movement vision of the sea moving through tableaux of "dark agitations," "caressing moonlight," and "the vast expanse of ocean, stormily agitated." He follows up with Sonata No. 3 in F-sharp minor, which the composer viewed as a succession of "states of the soul"; and the miniature masterpiece of the Sonata No. 4 in F-sharp major, one of Scriabin's first forays into mystical, ambiguous tonality. Don't miss this chance to witness one of today's most brilliant pianists at the peak of his powers!
