Sobre el programa...

Valery Gergiev conducts the Münchner Philharmoniker in a concert featuring Prokofiev's Symphonies Nos. 3 and 5, and Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 1 with Vilde Frang as soloist.

The celebrated young Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang was unanimously awarded the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award in 2012. She joins the Münchner Philharmoniker under the baton of its Music Director since 2015/16, Valery Gergiev, to play Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 1. The concert also features Prokofiev's Symphonies Nos. 3 and 5, leaving once again an indelible imprint on Munich's cultural life.

For this year’s MPHIL 360°, Valery Gergiev and the Münchner Philharmoniker join forces with the world-renowned Mariinsky Orchestra of St. Petersburg to put together a musical celebration of impressive proportions! The three day festival presents all of Sergei Prokofiev’s symphonies and piano sonatas, all of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s violin concerti and Domenico Scarlatti’s piano sonatas, as well as selected works by Richard Wagner and Edward Elgar. Stars and star-ensembles of today’s classical music world will also be taking part in the performances, in particular honorees of the International Tchaikovsky competition.
