Sobre el programa...

Catch the first part of the Recital Finale of the International Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition, streamed live from the Auditorium of the Maison de la Radio! In this round the contestants perform five sonatas for violin and piano, including sonatas by Beethoven, Pépin, Schubert, and Milhaud.

One of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in classical music, the biennial International Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition has launched the careers of generations of young artists since its 1943 founding by French virtuosos pianist Marguerite Long and violinist Jacques Thibaud. The acclaimed French violinist Renaud Capuçon takes on the role of artistic director and jury president for the 2018 International Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition for violin, leading a jury of outstanding musical artists and personalities. This year, 44 young violinists compete for the first prize and the chance to win a brand-new violin made by the renowned French luthier Patrick Robin.
