Sobre el programa...
"I was in search of a little island of sound. In search of a place in my innermost being where — shall we say — a dialogue with God might take place," states Arvo Pärt, describing his tonal style of composition that he refers to as tintinnabuli (the ringing of bells). In 2025, Pärt celebrates his 90th birthday and, to mark the occasion, the Prague Spring International Music Festival invites the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir to perform an all-Pärt program at the Rudolfinum’s Dvořák Hall. Under the direction of Tõnu Kaljuste, the chamber choir — hailed as one of the top ten choral ensembles in the world by BBC Music Magazine — joins forces with organist Kadri Toomoja to present a stunning range of Pärt’s sacred works. From his renowned Latin Magnificat to the motet The Deer’s Cry, set to a text from a traditional Irish lorica, and his recent work Vater unser, the concert marks a magnificent celebration of this cherished composer’s unique and deeply moving music.
