Sobre el programa...

Immerse yourself in the sparkling and colorful world of Pulcinella! Born from the collaboration between choreographer Richard Alston and British painter Howard Hodgkin, this ballet is inspired by the commedia dell'arte. Created in 1987 for the Rambert Ballet, Pulcinella skillfully combines romance and humor with Igor Stravinsky's magnificent score, itself inspired by Jean-Baptiste Pergolesi's music.

The plot takes place in Naples and follows the mischievous adventures of Pulcinella, a playful seducer who tries to win the heart of Pimpinella. Despite his love for her, he cannot help but seek the favors of other women, which does not fail to annoy her. Caught up in a whirlwind of misunderstandings and jealousy, Pulcinella decides to fake his death to thwart the plots of his rivals. He returns in disguise, hoping to finally win over the beautiful and stubborn Pimpinella. In the hands of Howard Hodgkin, the sets and costumes are transformed into abstract paintings, full of vibrant colors and shapes that come to life in the footsteps of these mischievous characters. A delightful, sparkling tale in a magnificent visual setting to be discovered on medici.tv!
