Sobre el programa...
New York City Ballet performs three landmark works for its first-ever performance in Madrid, Spain. The program begins with George Balanchine's Serenade, set to the music of Tchaikovsky. Serenade is the first work that Balanchine, the co-founder of New York City Ballet, created after arriving in America in 1934 and is now one of the Company’s signature works. The performance continues with Balanchine’s Square Dance which combines the traditions of American folk dance with the rigor and precision of classical ballet for a virtuosic tour de force set to the music of Vivaldi and Corelli. The performance concludes with The Times Are Racing, created by NYCB’s current Resident Choreographer Justin Peck in 2017. Set to a selection from Dan Deacon’s electronic music album America, The Times Are Racing is a dynamic showcase for a new generation.
