Sobre el programa...

Pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth — the Catholic Church’s seven deadly sins have fascinated and inspired the art world for centuries, finding their way into the most scandalous Renaissance paintings and the most decadent Hollywood movies. High-profile international choreographer Éric Gauthier explores the sordid septet through dance in his contemporary ballet The Seven Sins. In the spirit of the Surrealist game “Exquisite Corpse” — in which several artists create a piece without seeing each other's work — Gauthier unites the stunningly original work of eight outstanding choreographers: Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Aszure Barton, Marcos Morau, Marco Goecke, Hofesh Shechter, Sasha Waltz, and Sharon Eyal. Each choreographer transforms one of the sins into dance in their own way, collectively resulting in an eclectic work that celebrates the many facets of artistic expression. On the stage of the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, this captivating tapestry of colors, sounds, movements, and metaphors reveals the darkest desires of the human soul…
