Among his latest works are Così fan tutte at Salzburger Festspiele, Leoncavallo‘s Zazà at Theater an der Wien, Dvořák's Rusalka at Teatro Real Madrid, Eugen Onegin (Tchaikovsky) in Oslo, Francesca da Rimini at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Luisa Miller (Verdi) at the Glyndebourne Festival, Salome (Strauss) at the Finnish National Opera Helsinki, Der Schatzgräber (Schreker) at Deutsche Oper Berlin an Il Trittico (Puccini) at Salzburger Festspiele.
