About

Founded in 1994 and now a veritable institution, the Verbier Festival regularly assembles the biggest names in classical music, as well as the brightest talents of tomorrow. The brainchild of Martin Engstroem, the festival has grown over the years into a prestigious and treasured venue for sharing musical passion and expertise.

“It’s been a very challenging few months for artists in general,” said Verbier Festival Founder and Director, Martin T:son Engstroem. “That aspect of not having concerts to look forward to, not having an income; it has been very, very tough. I see this Virtual Festival as a tribute to our artists. Many of them are regulars who come back year after year, and I want to pay homage to this close friendship. The festival wouldn’t be anything without them.”

In a year marked by distance—and by innovative and creative new ways to bridge that distance—get ready for the Virtual Verbier Festival, a thrilling initiative designed to reunite musicians and music lovers. Tune in for a stupendous series of 18 musical evenings, each dedicated to a different artist or group, and relive the most unforgettable moments in the festival’s history. Along the way, discover new and previously unreleased footage, concerts, interviews, and master classes…

medici.tv, a partner of the festival since 2007, will once again bring you closer to your favorite artists. Tune in and join Valery Gergiev, Evgeny Kissin, Martha Argerich, Joshua Bell, the Capuçon brothers, Yuja Wang, Mischa Maisky and many others, every day at 7 PM from July 16 to August 2!
