About

"The CMIM gave me much more than a first prize: just after the competition I received many invitations for concerts in America, Europe and Asia and I had the opportunity of recording my first CD. If someone would ask me: did the Montréal Competition help your career? I would unhesitatingly answer: it made possible my dream of being a pianist come true."
Beatrice Rana, pianist from Italy, 1st Prize Winner of the CMIM in 2011.

Founded in 2001, the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) is an annual event that draws over 6,000 spectators to concert halls, as well as thousands of listeners on the radio and the web. It seeks to discover and support young singers, violinists, and pianists who demonstrate exceptional mastery of their art. It’s the only international competition in North America to be held annually and to present three disciplines in a three-year rotation. Since its first edition dedicated to voice in 2002, nearly 4,000 hopefuls have entered the Competition and over 500 have performed in Montreal, much to the delight of music lovers.
