1st Moscow's Zaryadye International Festival (About)

About

2019 marks the first edition of Moscow's International Zaryadye Festival, an event with acclaimed maestro Valery Gergiev as Artistic Director and an exhilerating line-up of rising and established stars. Taking place in the recently-constructed Zaryadye Concert Hall, the festival brings a host of international artists to the heart of Zaryadye Park, an urban green space nestled in the center of Moscow.

Zaryadye Concert Hall was inaugurated just last year by maestro Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra. Both visually striking and welcoming, Moscow's newest hall boasts world-class acoustics designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, the Japanese acoustician behind Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie.

For the inaugural edition of the International Zaryadye Festival, Valergy Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra welcome a selection of competitors from this June's International Tchaikovsky Competition including Grand Prix winner Alexandre Kantorow, Mao Fujita, Sergei Dogadin, and Ravil Islyamov. The festival culminates with a back-to-back pair of concerts featuring pianist Denis Matsuev.
