The seventh edition of Gautier Gapuçon's Classe d'Excellence de Violoncelle begins at the prestigious Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris!
This coveted class offers six candidates, selected via auditions in France and abroad, the opportunity to hone their technique and refine their musical understanding as they prepare to embark on professional careers. The inimitable Gautier Capuçon and pianist Samuel Parent accompany these young artists in their personal and artistic journey—a blend of master class and professional guidance that allows each student to flourish over the course of the season.
Capuçon, one of the most renowned cellists in France and on the international scene, regularly collaborates with Lionel Bringuier, Myung-Whun Chung, Gustavo Dudamel, Semyon Bychkov, Leonard Slatkin, Valery Gergiev, and other luminaries, performing in the biggest festivals alongside the world's major orchestras. His awards include a First Prize showing at the André Navarra International Cello Competition in Toulouse, a Victoire de la Musique Classique in 2001, and several Echo Music Prizes.
