About

The Académie de Direction d'Orchestre (International Conducting Academy) is back! The institution was founded in 2016 by the extraordinary Tugan Sokhiev, always seeking to pass his knowledge and experience on to future generations of musicians: "This desire—or even necessity—for transmission seems even more important here in Toulouse, a city with such rich traditions that has always placed a high value on education."

This 2021 edition notably features brilliant young women conductors like Rebecca Tong, a revelation at La Maestra 2020 where she won First Prize. On the program are legendary composers whose work never goes out of fashion: Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Mozart, and Ravel.
