Program notes

One of Germany's greatest singers, Brigitte Fassbaender presents two master classes live from one of the world’s leading venues: Wigmore Hall.

The German mezzo-soprano, Brigitte Fassbaender, studied singing with her father, the renowned German baritone Willi Domgraf-Fassbaender, at the Nuremberg Conservatory. She made her debut as a Page in Wagner's Lohengrin in Munich in 1961. During a long and illustrious career, the mezzo-soprano performed at all of the world's leading opera houses and cultivated exceptional qualities as a Lieder singer.

Brigitte Fassbaender is also celebrated for her master class sessions. She returns to Wigmore Hall to lead two days of master classes, working with postgraduate students from UK conservatoires.
