Program notes

The present and past of the greatest Russian theatre, the Bolshoi, seen through a number of characters aged 71 to 81.

From a machinist to a conductor, personal histories are intertwined with the history of the theatre and the concerns raised by the great reconstruction of the theatre, beginning this year. This reconstruction spells the end of an era and a generation.

Between pessimism and hope, this film aims to explore the human dimension of classical art.
