Take part in the 50th anniversary celebration of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and attend the world premiere of their documentary Transcending!
This film reveals the level of passion and commitment of the Chamber Music Society's leaders, and gives us a glimpse of their overarching vision: commissioning new works, supporting the development of young musicians, and broadcasting chamber music to reach new audiences around the globe—”forming a community around this amazing art form,” in the words of co-artistic director Wu Han. The success of the ensemble, in their own view, depends upon the creation and support of passionate performances, many of which feature in this eye-opening film alongside interviews of personalities close to the organization. These concerts take place in locations all over the world, from a Kentucky tobacco plantation to the ruins of Ancient Greece, Beijing’s Forbidden City, and the society’s home venue, New York’s Alice Tully Hall.
Introduced by award-winning actress of stage and screen Annette Bening!
