Program notes

Under the baton of Zubin Mehta, the Wiener Philharmoniker is joined by Rudolf Buchbinder in a performance of Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 15. The concert also features Dubussy's La Mer and Ravel's La Valse.

Founded in 1842, the Wiener Philharmoniker is one of the finest ensembles in the world. It is the only one with a democratic self-administration and many of the musicians play in the orchestra for the duration of their career.
