The Verbier Festival has long delighted in the vocal versatility of Thomas Quasthoff, traveling effortlessly between lieder, sacred music, and jazz. His distinctive, exquisite baritone has enchanted festival attendees across a wide variety of repertoire, with unforgettable concerts dedicated to the work of composers like Schubert and Schumann; and in 2015, the Verbier Festival’s artistic director Martin T:son Engstroem invited Quasthoff to make his conducting debut with Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, a career milestone. This evening, sit back and marvel at the depth and power of one of the most unique and multifaceted voices the festival has known!
