Valery Gergiev conducts Escaich, Stravinsky, Debussy, and Ravel – With Lahav Shani Opening Concert of the Gergiev Festival: The Colours of Paris

About

With the generous support of Madame Aline Foriel-Destezet

Valery Gergiev at the baton and Lahav Shani at the piano: when the former music director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra meets the current one! The two artists open the Gergiev Festival with a program in Parisian colors: Stravinsky Concerto for Piano and Winds, Debussy’s La Mer, and Ravel’s Boléro. A world premiere composed by Thierry Escaich specially for this event is performed as an overture: Ritual Opening.

World Premiere of Ritual Opening, written with the support of the Sylvia Tóth Compositiefonds for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Gergiev Festival.

We would like to thank Concert Hall De Doelen for their partnership.
