Tugan Sokhiev and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse are joined by pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja for a concert of Romantic music in Toulouse.
Described by one French journalist as, "the last great lady of the Soviet school," Elisabeth Leonskaja has collaborated many times with the Orchestre du Capitole. She is an important figure in the piano world for years, having performed as a soloist with the world's most important orchestras and greatest conductors. In this concert she was invited to perform Grieg's famous Piano Concerto. Tugan Sokhiev and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse followed up the concerto with a performance of Schubert's Overture to Rosamunde and Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major, op. 88. Once again, a beautiful new musical season has arrived in France's ville rose.
