Program notes

On June 26th, young Canadian talents Stéphane Tétreault and Marie-Eve Scarfone will perform at the Flâneries Musicales d'été de Reims

Launched in 1990, Les Flâneries Musicales d'été de Reims are managed by the Flâneries Musicales de Reims association, which was founded to promote music in the city of Reims and surrounding areas. It has been twenty years now that each summer, young musicians and artists of international fame join forces in the beautiful city of Reims, France. Each year, they perform over fifty concerts in such various and lovely locations as the Basilique Saint-Remi, the house of the Counts of Champagne, the cathedral, the opera, the Palace of Tau, etc.

In 2012, the Flâneries Musicales de Reims inaugurated a brand new concert series named "Debuts," dedicated to the young talents of classical music. medici.tv partners with Les Flâneries for the 3rd consecutive year to broadcast the 3 "Debuts" concerts.

Stéphane Tétreault is only 20 and yet, he has already been awarded the first prize at the OSM Standard Life Competition, in 2007. The cellist has also been named Révélation Radio-Canada in classical music. He released his first album in 2012, with the Orchestre symphonique de Québec.

Pianist Marie-Eve Scarfone has received many prizes from the Opéra de Montréal, and has won the Marilyn Horne Foundation Song Competition. She was also awarded the prize of the Sir Ernest MacMillan Memorial Foundation.

From Montreal to Reims, the talented Québécois will perform pieces by Haydn, Brahms and Rachmaninov.
