About

Alongside his long career as an internationally-celebrated trumpeter, bandleader, composer, and activist, Sean Jones is also a generous and committed music educator. When asked about his relationship with his students, he affirms that “it has been a great honor and privilege to work with each of them and I am really grateful to have had the chance to meet them on their journey.” Follow the great artist and exceptional educator from Carnegie Hall to Beijing as he leads the talented young musicians of the NYO Jazz program in a program of big band standards and a Carnegie Hall-commissioned work by contemporary composer Ayn Inserto!

NYO Jazz is a program under the auspices of Carnegie Hall that offers young American jazz musicians the possibility to perform on some of the world’s greatest stages. In 2019, their tour under the direction of Sean Jones takes them to Asia.
