Noted for his great talent and artistic insight, Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi performs at the Verbier Festival for the first time, presenting a recital of works by Mozart, Liszt, Debussy, and Schubert.
Piemontesi opens the concert with Mozart's Piano Sonata in A Minor, followed by extracts from Liszt's Années de pèlerinage, a collection in which the composer "tried to put a few of his strongest sensations, of his most vivid perceptions into music …" Four of Debussy's most striking Préludes and Schubert's harmonious Piano Sonata No. 20 in A Major bring the powerful recital to a close.
