The Moscow Philharmonia celebrate 100 years of musical excellence with a star-studded concert at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall! The Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra are joined by a cast of international superstars, including maestros Gustavo Dudamel and Valery Gergiev.
Anne-Sophie Mutter, Daniil Trifonov, and Pablo Ferrández-Castro open the festivities with the first movement of Beethoven's Triple Concerto, a lively conversation between piano, violin, cello, and orchestra. Next, it's singers at center stage as soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov perform a sublime duo from Tchaikovsky's one-act opera Iolanta, and Ildar Abdrazakov incarnates the titular role in Rachmaninoff's Aleko. For the grand finale, Denis Matsuev takes on the third movement of Tchaikovsky's iconic Piano Concerto No. 1. An exciting program that lets both soloists and orchestra shine!
