Martha Argerich Festival 2021

Dec. 13: Martha Argerich, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and Mischa Maisky perform Beethoven and Mendelssohn Martha Argerich Festival 2021

About

Join a trio of titans at the prestigious Laeiszhalle of Hamburg, part of the 2021 Martha Argerich Festival: violinist extraordinaire Anne-Sophie Mutter, cello virtuoso Mischa Maisky, and—naturally—the great Argerich herself!

Argerich and Maisky begin the evening with Beethoven's sparkling Seven Variations on "Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen" from Mozart's The Magic Flute. Mutter then joins them in Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor by Felix Mendelssohn, a Romantic masterpiece in four movements—the third of which is, in Mutter's words, a "breathtakingly virtuosic Scherzo that strikes a note both elegant and playful."
