Program notes

Marc-André Hamelin recently gave a concert broadcast live on medici.tv, with conductor Kent Nagano and his Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Meet him again at the Verbier church for a piano recital!

If the Canadian pianist loves to explore composers like Ornstein, Grainger or even Feinberg, he also likes to perform works better known to the public, such as Haydn, Field, Debussy or even Liszt, for instance. These are exactly the composers he intends to pay tribute to at the Verbier church, in addition to his own composition Variations on a theme by Paganini, sprinkled with references to Beethoven, Rachmaninoff or even Prokofiev.

Marc-André Hamelin has played with the greatest orchestras (the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, etc.) and in the most prestigious concert halls. This summer, he will play at the Verbier Festival!
