Program notes

Janine Jansen and Itamar Golan together on stage and live from the Verbier Festival!

Janine Jansen is a unique violinist, reknowned for her exceptional maturity, sensitivity and technique. She has collaborated a few times with the pianist Itamar Golan, a passionate about chamber music. If you are a regular of medici.tv's broadcasts, you have already seen them live from the Cité de la musique in 2011. On the Decca Classics label, they have released the album Beau soir which displays works by the Swiss composer Richard Dubugnon – the same works that are being performed during this concert. In addition to those three pieces by Dubugnon, the programme features two sonatas by Bartók and Ravel as well as the Myths by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski.
