In this unique broadcast from Tel Aviv, join the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra's Music Director Lahav Shani for a fascinating look back at the IPO's history, in honor of their 85th anniversary! Founded in 1936 by Bronisław Huberman, the storied ensemble gave its very first concert on December 26th of that year. Featuring big names of the classical music scene like Zubin Mehta (who led the orchestra for five decades), critically-acclaimed actress Shira Haas presents this remarkable program that chronicles some of the most unforgettable moments from the IPO's past, including riveting archival footage with the likes of Leonard Bernstein and Arturo Toscanini. The IPO 85th Birthday will raise vital funds to support Israel’s finest musicians.
