Program notes

Live from the InClassica Festival, the magnificent Behzod Abduraimov and the Russian National Orchestra, under the direction of the talented Gergely Madaras, take over the splendid Dubai Opera! Maestro Madaras, an expert of the operatic repertoire, first conducts the Overture from Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Then, the virtuoso pianist makes his entrance and interprets a score by contemporary composer Alexey Shor: From My Bookshelf, a suite of nine piano pieces dedicated to characters from his favorite literary works. Finally, the orchestra concludes this enchanted evening with Dvořák’s New World Symphony, a masterwork of nostalgia and a tribute to the composer’s native Bohemia.
