Program notes

For the very first time this year, medici.tv broadcasts the most important classical music competition held in Romania—and the largest in Eastern Europe: the George Enescu International Competition. Watch it live from the Romanian Athenaeum on medici.tv and discover the world's next classical music prodigies!

The renowned Romanian conductor Horia Andreescu conducts the opening concert of the Enescu Competition with the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and three previous laureates of the competition: the violinist Anna Tifu (2007 edition), the cellist Valentin Răduțiu (2011 edition) and the pianist Mihai Ritivoiu (2011 edition). At the center of the programme is Sebastian Androne's Tektonum, a piece awarded by the Enescu Competition 2014 in the composition section. The concert features also Beethoven's Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano in C Major and Ottorino Respighi's Pini di Roma.
