Program notes

Irish conductor-composer Eímear Noone makes her electrifying debut with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in a unique and spectacularly staged concert, celebrating the music of video game composers whose works have enchanted tens of millions of gamers.

On the program: pieces from beloved franchises like Call of Duty, Halo, Bioshock, and Assassin’s Creed, as well as World of Warcraft (for which Noone herself composed Malach, Angel Messenger) and Final Fantasy. Accompanied by the always impeccable DNSO and dynamo soloists Tuva Semmingsen and Christine Nonbo Andersen, Noone—who in 2020 became the first woman to conduct at the Academy Awards—has an evident love for these spirited, adrenaline-filled works. With her at the helm of this dazzling spectacle, you’ll understand why.
