Take part in the exciting reunion of maestro Gábor Takács-Nagy and pianist Sir András Schiff in an all-Beethoven program on the stage of the Tsinandali Festival!

Almond oil, hot baths… there were numerous treatments for deafness in the 19th century, but none of them were able to cure the long-suffering Romantic composer. “The first cause of this infirmity must be my intestines, which you know have always been weak, but have become worse”, wrote Beethoven to his friend, the doctor Franz Gerhard Wegeler. Premiered in 1803 toward the beginning of his hearing loss, the Second Symphony gains perspective through its programmatic pairing with the Fourth Piano Concerto, which was premiered five years later with the composer himself at the piano, by that time totally deaf...
