Program notes

Don't miss the final round of the International Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition, live from the Auditorium at Radio France! In the recital portion, the young pianists each perform works for solo piano by Debussy, Ravel, and a specially-comissioned new composition by Michael Jarrell.

Founded in 1943 by pianist Marguerite Long and violinist Jacques Thibaud, the competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious in classical music and has launched the career of numerous young artists. This year's edition is dedicated to the piano and boasts an exceptional jury presided by president Martha Argerich and Bertrand Chamayou, vice-president and artistic director of the 2019 competition.
