Denis Kozhukhin — Pianist

Program notes

Two years after he was awarded first prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition – which launched him onto the international scene – Denis Kozhukhin is back at the Louvre Auditorium in Paris, and for the first time live on medici.tv!

He performs a true masterpiece by Franz Liszt: his Transcendantal Études, which highly demanding on the technical level. In this exceptional score, the "Paganini of the piano," as we called him, maximized and overstretched the acrobatic figures of the hand.

After Emmanuel Despax, Lise de la Salle and Andrei Korobeinikov, another recital programmed as a part of "Piano au fil de Liszt," a series of concerts initiated at the beginning of the season by the Louvre Auditorium.

Musée du Louvre: Henri Loyrette, President Director; Monique Devaux, Concerts Artistic Director.
