For the third year in a row, the young pianist Daniil Trifonov will play at the Verbier Festival. His recital at the salle des Combins will be webcast live on medici.tv.
After making his name on the music scene in 2010 winning the third prize at the prestigious International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Daniil Trifonov became laureate of the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 2011, and won the first prize of the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition in Tel- Aviv the same year. Daniil Trifonov then became one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation. A regular guest of the best orchestras and concert halls, Daniil Trifonov received rave reviews from his peers and from the press: in 2011, Martha Argerich declared to the Financial Times: "He has everything and more."
The 23 year-old pianist is invited at the salle des Combins to give a recital of works by Tchaikovsky (Theme and Variations in F Major), Rachmaninov (he will perform his Variations on a theme by Chopin, one of his favorite composers), and Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes .
