Daniel Harding conducts Brahms and Beethoven — With Joshua Bell and Steven Isserlis Verbier Festival 2021

About

It would be difficult to imagine a violin-cello team better suited to the task of Brahms's epic Double Concerto than virtuosos Joshua Bell and Steven Isserlis—and these two marquee names are on the bill together at the 2021 Verbier Festival! Daniel Harding conducts the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra in a thoroughly captivating concert at the Salle des Combins, which follows the mesmerizing Brahms with Beethoven's beloved Symphony No. 1—an eternal audience favorite which initially caused controversy for its overture, written in a different key from the rest of the work.
