Against the spectacular backdrop of the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, Vladimir Spivakov and the Moscow Virtuosi present a program that beautifully highlights the technical ability and wide-ranging repertoire of the orchestra and their leader, himself a violin virtuoso! They interpret Mozart's Divertimento No. 3 in F Major, a series of miniatures by Shostakovich illustrative of the Russian's kaleidoscopic sonic vocabulary, and Tchaikovsky's exquisite Serenade for Strings—after opening the evening with one of the most timeless works ever composed, Bach's Double Violin Concerto, which sees Spivakov join forces with the phenomenal Laurent Korcia for a performance to remember.
