Program notes

A tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven with Jean-Claude Casadesus, Renaud Capuçon, Khatia Buniatishvili and Edgar Moreau!

An exceptional cast gathered around the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra for a tribute concert to the world's greatest composer's orchestral works. This programme features the overture of Coriolan (an intensely dramatic piece), the Concerto for violin, cello and piano and the Symphony No. 7, known for its dancing Adagietto.

If Renaud Capuçon is not a internationally reknowned artist, Khatia Buniatishvili is considered as a true rising star of the piano. The young Edgar Moreau, who gained international fame in 2011 when he won the second prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow at 17 only, has also been named the "Révélation Instrumentale" at the French Victoires de la musique.
