Program notes

Broadcast live on medici.tv, the closing concert of the 2015 Verbier Festival promises greatness once again! In the Salle des Combins, the prominent conductor Charles Dutoit, the Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili and the Verbier Festival Orchestra will gather with Ildikó Komlósi, Matthias Goerne and Marthe Keller to honor two of the best Hungarian composers the history of music has ever known: Liszt and Bartók.

The 2015 Verbier Festival ends with a beautiful concert in the company of Khatia Buniatishvili who will perform the very beautiful Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in A major by Franz Liszt. It is also an opportunity to rediscover Bluebeard's Castle, Bartók's only opera, performed by mezzo-soprano Ildikó Komlósi and baritone Matthias Goerne and narrated by Marthe Keller.
